The goal of the Hospice/Palliative Care Standardized Education Program (provided under the supervision of the Catholic University of Korea College of Nursing Research Institute for Hospice/Palliative Care and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital) is to educate professionals involved in the practice of hospice and palliative care, including physicians, nurses, social workers, clergymen, and hospice related professionals, with a view to providing better holistic care that helps maintain quality of life during the last phase of life.
Through this program, professionals offering hospice and palliative care are able to gain a better understanding of the physical, psychological, social, financial, and spiritual needs of hospice patients and their families at hospitals and local communities. Professionals can also learn about knowledge and attitude requirements needed when intervening with hospice and palliative patients.
